Young People’s Substance Misuse Training
The NHS offer a range of free substance misuse training courses for those working with young people in Bristol. The courses aim to increase workers’ confidence and skills to respond appropriately to young people’s queries, refer them to appropriate sources of support and advice and to carry out
effective substance misuse work. All the courses are free of charge and are facilitated by members of a multi-agency substance misuse trainers’ network.

Young People’s Needs Assessment and Treatment Plan
Every year the young people’s drug strategy team are required by the National Treatment Agency(NTA) to produce a Needs Assessment, which analyses the levels of needs of young people around substance misuse, and a Treatment Plan, which sets out what the drug strategy team’s priorities are for the forthcoming year based on the needs assessment.
